Spirits’ homecoming

http://joent.net/
The film ‘Spirits’ Homecoming’ is based on the true story of Kang Il-chul , who was forced to become a sex slave for the Imperial Japanese Army during the 1940s. Director Cho, also requested a versatile visual logo for this movie, and since Gwi-bul-no-ri-gae was the most significant prop in this movie, the shape of most basic Gwi-bul-no-ri-gae was used to produce this logo. Below are the examples of the usage of logos used. (The Korean letters 귀향 means Spirits’ Homecoming.)

For Sim

https://www.facebook.com/monanbooks/
A feminist magazine for feminists, the magazine ‘Forsim’ first published in December 2015. Only women were allowed to participate in the production, and its contents aimed for women. Forsim criticises Korean patriarchal society; this magazine voiced what is really in Korean women’s minds – that we want to be equal human beings. The name of this magazine ‘Forsim’, read as ‘Sa-sim’ in original Korean, contains a few meanings. Firstly, it means ‘passion’ or ‘ulterior motive’, representing women as human beings with feelings and desires, not objects. Secondly, written in English, it reads ‘Fo(u)r Sim’ where ‘Sim’ means ‘mind’ in Chinese. This is to console every woman whose mind has been hurt or affected by the patriarchal society. As a participating designer, I worked on photography, layout and illustrations.
