Hello, my name is Yeowon Lee. I am a UI UX designer with illustration and animation skills. My passion for design has always motivated me to go further than others and challenge myself. I have strong work ethics and am committed to meeting high standards on every project. I am unafraid to suggest new approaches to improve upon existing designs or trends. I love the sense of accomplishment when I meet a demanding deadline or successfully deliver on a very complicated task. Throughout my academic and professional careers, I have worked towards producing designs that will boost client business and are also pleasing in an aesthetical sense. My goal in every design is to solve problems for both the company and the users. As a digital UI UX designer, my design fundamentals are these three rules – make it useful, usable and then delightful. Using these three rules, I consider the design’s functions and purpose to achieve its most important goal – making it useful. Once I have identified core functions and the hierarchy of information, I begin designing the UI. With this process, it becomes easier to work out a usable layout without leaving any critical factors behind. It is always in my best interest to design a comfortable and clean experience for users, leading to prioritising functionality over the interface’s overall look. This is because I believe the purpose of design is to solve problems. If the result is not functional, no matter how great the design ends up looking, it becomes useless. I am proficient in Adobe Creative Suite in both Window and Mac platform. I have a solid knowledge of Microsoft office suite as well. I have intermediate HTML and CSS skills (I know enough to code this portfolio site) to consider the most feasible design solution within the given time frame. I am a strong problem solver, and I always work hard to think creatively in every situation. I have extensive experience working in complex and varied environments, involving a diverse group of people. I have led teams as a UX design lead, working with small and large teams extensively. I am a bright natured person with a positive and professional attitude. I also further developed my time management skills and often had to juggle decision direction between business and personal. On a more personal note, I enjoy reading, painting and writing short stories. I am also an animal lover, I live with smart assistant designer cats named Poko and Chiko.
